Aaron Carter wrapped filming on a new pilot, titled Group, in which he portrayed a fictionalized version of himself, just one month before his death at just 34-years-old.
As the world continues to grieve the former child star after he was found dead at his house in Lancaster on Saturday, writer and director Brian Farmer issued a statement about the actor’s final project, which is currently in post-production.
‘Aaron was so excited about the show and helping raise awareness for mental health, a topic he was very passionate about,’ Farmer wrote in a statement.

‘My heart goes out to his family and friends,’ Farmer concluded.

Over the weekend, police confirmed that the brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter had drowned in his bathtub after he was discovered by the house sitter.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ said there were prescription pills and cans of compressed air in his bathroom.
The mother of his fiancée Melanie Martin is currently taking care of their Prince, who is just 11 months old.
The last album released by Carter before his death was 2018’s LØVË.
Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter paid tribute to his younger brother Aaron on Sunday following the news that Aaron was found dead in a bathtub at his California home a day earlier at the age of 34
However, his manager revealed the singer had been working on a new album in a bid to reconnect with his brother Nick.
Two days after his death the new album, which is called Blacklisted, was released.
Carter’s manager Taylor Helgeson told TMZ the singer believed the music he was working on was some of his best yet.
The studio album was meant to be released on December 7, which would have been Carter’s 35th birthday.
He was last in contact with someone in the early hours of Friday, at around 2am.
The L.A. County Coroner’s Office is waiting for toxicology results to come back before it reveals a cause of death.
Carter was a child star who hit it big in the early 2000s but whose adult life was scarred by drug addiction. His brother Nick was one of the Backstreet Boys.
Aaron Carter had previously credited his brother Nick for putting him through his first rehab stint
After Aaron’s death, Nick wrote on Instagram: ‘I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.
‘Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.’
Aaron Carter’s twin sister Angel Conrad also took to Instagram to post a heartfelt tribute to her brother after his death.
She said: ‘I loved you beyond measure.
‘You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them.
‘I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again.’
Nick wrote that his heart was broken despite the brothers complicated relationship, adding that his love for Aaron never faded
Aaron Carter’s second studio album, Aaron’s Party (Come And Get It), was released in 2000 and went triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
It featured the singles I Want Candy, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) and That’s How I Beat Shaq, and Carter supported the album for several concerts by the Backstreet Boys and for Britney Spears on the Oops!… I Did It Again tour.
He went on to release three more studio albums, 2001’s Oh Aaron, 2002’s Another Earthquake! and 2018’s Love.
Carter also tried his hand at acting, guest starring on shows including Lizzie McGuire and making his Broadway debut in 2001 as JoJo the Who in Seussical The Musical.
He made the move to rap music in recent years, throwing off his child star image with a number of face tattoos.
Carter also had his share of controversy as well as several run-ins with the law.
His relationship with his siblings was strained over the years and in 2019 his brother Nick filed a restraining order against him, alleging he threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.
Carter acknowledged the restraining order on Twitter at the time but denied the allegations of threatening behaviour.
He also had a history of drug convictions and reportedly went to rehab on a number of occasions.
Carter had been trying to sell the 7-bed, 4-bath home that he bought just two years ago for months. He took it off the market briefly in the summer but then listed it again for $829,900 in September, records show. He then reduced the price on October 24 to $799,900.

On Monday, two days after his death it was again taken off the market.
During his two years in the high-desert town of Lancaster, 70 miles north of Los Angeles, he had had dustups with several people in the area.
One neighbor who didn’t want to be identified for fear of reprisal from his fans told DailyMail.com: ‘Aaron had problems with several of the neighbors on his street, at least three of them have called police on him.
‘Aaron was just arrogant, he thought he was better than everyone else in the neighborhood. He would brag about how he had better vehicles and his house was larger than most in the area.
There was always commotion coming from the house with Aaron and his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Melanie Martin arguing all hours of the day.
‘We saw police out in front of his house every few months,’ said the neighbor.
On several occasions, Aaron locked Melanie outside of his house, after a screaming match and she would bang on the door, screaming ‘let me in.’
