Angela Bassett appears as she’s never been seen before on the November/December issue of Essence magazine.

The seasoned actress, 64, was transformed into a comic book character as she graced the outlet’s latest issue.

In illustrations by Darius X. Moreno Angela’s beauty was translated to cartoon form to accompany her interview.

One of two covers sees the Golden Globe award winner in a low-cut green tank top as voluminous, wavy swirl of hair flows around her.

The mother-of-two’s famous high cheekbones were accounted for in the image, as well as careful attention paid to her perky chest.

Just like the real-life screen siren, Bassett’s strong brows were drawn and arched, complementing the sketched version of her plump pout.

‘Wakanda’s queen shares what she truly considers luxury,’ the text read on the cover, referencing Angela’s upcoming Black Panther film, out next month.

A second iteration of the front page of the publication featured multiple anime strips of the star.

On Monday the official Essence Instagram account shared multiple drawings from the spread and wrote, ‘Turning Angela Bassett into her own comic book was beyond necessary.’

In the series of graphics the entertainer dons real-life creations from designers like Schiaparelli, Proenza Schouler, Victor Glemaud, and Aliétte.

The caption promoting the new issue continued, ‘We sat down with our November/December cover star and reflected on building her resume, life after What’s Love Got To Do With It, and on becoming the highest-paid Black Woman in TV History.’

Moreno was able to encapsulate the movie star’s signature traits, like her strong arms and emotional eyes in the depictions.

In the story by Brande Victorian, Angela discussed her long-standing career in Hollywood.

She said about her steady ability to work, ‘At one point early on, just going to work as an actress consistently—for me, that was the soft life.

‘At the beginning of the year on New Year’s—yay! On your birthday—yay! ‘I’m working—yes!’
