Billie Faiers’ fears as daughter Nelly, 8, is rushed to hospital after horse-riding accident on show

Billie Faiers was left heartbroken as her daughter Nelly Shepherd, eight, was rushed to hospital after an ‘awful’ horse-riding incident.

In scenes from her TV show Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries which aired on Wednesday, the TV personality, 32, revealed her fear after getting the phone call that Nelly had fallen off her horse and broken her arm.

Speaking in a VT on the show, the star – who is expecting her third child – remarked: ‘You never want to see your children in pain, ever.’

Despite the incident occurring in September, the ITVBe programme aired the dramatic moment Nelly was whisked off to A&E in the pre-recorded episode.

Billie explained: ‘So Nelly was horse-riding and I got a phone call saying Nelly had fallen off of her horse. I could hear Nelly really crying in the background.

‘Greg gets there and puts her in the car and they went straight to A&E. They X-rayed her arm and they said straight away it’s a clean break on her humerus bone.

‘The doctor actually said it’s probably one of the most painful bones you can break in your body.’

The mum emotionally added: ‘Your heart just breaks. You never want to see your children in pain ever. It was just awful.’

Another scene then sees Nelly safely at home with her arm on the sling, with the youngster visited by grandmother Suzie Wells.

As Nelly explains that she has to take her arm out of the sling three times a day for five minutes, her dad Greg joked that she looked ‘wonky’.

To which a feisty Nelly replied: ‘If you call me wonky, then I’ll say I’ve still got my left hand to punch you right in the testicles.’

Suzie then quipped: ‘Nelly! Haven’t lost your sense of humour!’

Back in September, Billie told how it had been ‘a rough 24 hours’ after Nelly was taken to hospital with the injury.

The TV personality captured a picture of her daughter asleep with a black sling around her neck holding her arm up, which she posted to Instagram. 

Billie wrote: ‘It’s been a rough 24hours… my poor little lady broke her arm yesterday. She has been so brave, lots of cuddles and rest.’

Billie and Greg shared the happy news they are expecting a third child in June while enjoying a family holiday in Abu Dhabi. 

The couple have been together since September 2011 and got engaged while on holiday in the Maldives in 2014.

Billie and Greg returned to the Indian Ocean island paradise for their wedding, tying the knot in March 2019.
