Chris Hemsworth has pleaded with fans to support him and his blockbuster box-office smash Thor: Love and Thunder in the People’s Choice Awards.

The hunky 39-year-old Aussie favourite has been nominated for a number of prizes  including Male Movie Star of 2022, and Action Movie Star of 2022.

Chris made a tongue-in-cheek video in order to secure votes for the awards show and posted it to his Instagram on Friday.

The People’s Choice Awards will take place in Santa Monica, U.S. on December 6 and the voting is carried out on line by fans.

Among Chris’ competition are Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.

Thor: Blood and Thunder, which Chris stars in and co-produced, is a nominee alongside The Rock’s  Black Adam for The Action Movie of 2022 in the PCA’s.

Looking fresh and happy in a white-T shirt, Chris wore a light beard in the short clip.

It appeared to be filmed amongst friends on the verandah of the Byron Bay mansion Chris shares with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children.

Chris used the video to cheekily make fun of his competition by pretending his pals on the verandah were fellow PCA nominees Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.

‘We’ve got ‘The Rock’ over here,’ Chris said as he pointed his camera at one of his friends.

Turning his lens in a different direction to reveal another mate, Chris introduced the unknown man as ‘Ryan Reynolds’.

He then turned the camera around to film a third man and joked: ‘Not sure who that guy is…’

The action star finished his video with a sincere plea for votes, amidst a tribute to his competition.

‘It’s a full category,’ the Thor star acknowledged, ‘and it’s a list of people that will most likely beat me.

‘So, I need your help and your votes,’ he told his followers,’ and get down and start voting.’

He signed off with a special message to the ‘The Rock’: ‘I love you Dwayne.’
