Denise Van Outen has revealed ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall cheating on her was ‘worth it’ to find her new man Jimmy Barba.

The TV presenter, who recently went public with her new Italian boyfriend Jimmy, ended their seven-year relationship back in January this year after discovering the messages on his phone. 

The 48-year-old told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine: ‘Obviously those things weren’t nice to go through, but where I’m at now with Jimmy [Barba], who has such a good energy, everything was worth it.

Denise continued: ‘Honestly, I feel like I’m in a nice, happy, good place. I wouldn’t change anything. And there were so many positives that came out of it.’

She went on to explain how ‘reconnected’ with a lot of close friends as they constantly checked in on her. 

Denise then revealed:  ‘I’ve got myself into therapy, too, which was really good. It’s made me realise I’m very much a people-pleaser. I don’t like confrontation or arguments, but that makes me vulnerable as a person. So now I’m learning to have boundaries.’

In July, she went public with her property developer boyfriend Jimmy and the pair have since enjoyed their first holiday together after jetting to Marbella.

Denise explained how she didn’t want to go public until the relationship was ‘solid’ so instead the couple way stay in and chat for hours. 

She couldn’t believe they had never met before as they have mutual friends but admitted it was the right time for their paths to finally cross.

The 48-year-old said: 'Obviously those things weren't nice to go through, but where I'm at now with Jimmy [Barba], who has such a good energy, everything was worth it.'

While it’s early days for Denise and her new beau, pals say they could be planning on moving in together soon as she has ‘fallen hard and fast’ for Jimmy.

And Denise’s best pal Duncan James said she has got ‘her sparkle back’ after finding love again following her split from Eddie.

Speaking of his delight at seeing his friend content in her life again, Duncan told the Mirror: ‘After the year that she’s had, she just deserves some happiness.

‘I’m just really happy for her and she’s got her smile back and her sparkle back it’s really lovely to see that.’

Former Big Brother Italy contestant and aspiring musician Jimmy makes the television personality laugh like no other man she’s ever met. 

Denise ended her seven year relationship with Eddie back in January this year, after discovering unfaithful messages. 

In July, Eddie appeared to make a dig at his ex-girlfriend via Instagram, sharing a story with a voiceover explaining: ‘It is so much better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel alone’.

It came just a week after Denise went public with her new Italian boyfriend, Jimmy.

Back in April, he posted a photograph of his dinner of pie and mash at London’s Manze pie shop, adding a cryptic caption where he said: ‘there ain’t no pleasing you. Everything I ever did was wrong, I should have known it all along. There ain’t no pleasing you! (but this pleases me!)’

And before that, he appeared to brand Denise the ‘worst detective in the world’, after it was revealed that she found out of his cheating after discovering pictures and messages on his iPad.

He posted a black-and-white image of Inspector Clouseau, who is described as an ‘inept and incompetent police detective in the French Sûreté’ – and the accompanying caption led many to believe he was alluding to his ex’s detective skills.
