Radio host Hamish Blake and his businesswoman wife Zoë Foster Blake were left reeling after a ‘home invasion’ when a man allegedly broke into their luxury rental home while they were sleeping and stole their luxury Land Rover.

Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal the celebrity couple were the alleged victims of a break-and-enter just days before Christmas last year.

Daniel Booth, 34, is accused of breaking into the four-bedroom home the power couple were renting for almost $5000 a week in Woollahra, in Sydney‘s east, about 6am on Monday, December 19.

Police will allege in court that Booth allegedly entered the kitchen and stole keys from the skincare mogul’s handbag – before taking off in the family’s luxury Land Rover Defender.

Similar high-end models in the Defender range are valued at $123,919.

The Blakes discovered their car missing from its parking spot out the front of the residence later that morning.

But police will allege in court that the couple were able to track it down to Redfern, about four kilometres away in the city’s inner south.

The famous couple called police and officers found the allegedly stolen car dumped in a street before arresting Booth in a nearby apartment on Morehead Street.

Police will allege Booth was found still in possession of the car key and handbag.

The car was seized for forensic examination while Booth was taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged.

The comedian and cosmetics entrepreneur were staying in the rental with their young children – son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, five – as they were renovating their $8.925million home in nearby Vaucluse.

He was refused bail and to appear in Central Local Court on December 21.

The Blakes purchased their new five-bedroom, six-bathroom Vaucluse home in December 2020 after moving to Sydney from Melbourne.

The four-level home, which was designed by Neil Architecture and appeared on Grand Designs Australia in 2013, measures 885sqm and features two sets of garages.

The buy came after Zoë, 42, made the Australian Young Rich List in November, with an estimated net worth of $36million thanks to her Go-To skincare line.

Seven months later, Hamish, 40, announced on Instagram the family were staying in a rental while works got underway at their home.

‘And it’s a pretty good rental, because they have so many spoons,’ he said.

‘They even put a massive one on the wall,’ he said, panning the camera to show a decorative utensil next to him.

‘So, must be nice. Must be very, very nice.’

According to property records, the Woollahra home was listed for rent at $4900-a-week in February 2021.

It was listed for sale in June this year before being sold for an undisclosed amount in September, with current market estimates placing its value around $3.72million.

Booth was released on bail in June this year and his case is due to next be heard in Sydney District Court on November 17.

In relation to the alleged incident involving the Blakes, Booth has been charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence with people there and steal motor vehicle.

He has pleaded not guilty to some of the charges and is set to face a jury trial in September 2023.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Blakes for comment.
