Harrison Ford cut a dapper figure in West Hollywood, California Thursday as he was seen taking a walk, in the wake of his casting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Captain America film.
The Hollywood icon, 80, kept warm in a gray long-sleeved top with dark denim jeans with black dress shoes. His gray locks were styled to the side as he wore dark sunglasses on the daytime outing.
The Oscar-nominated actor, famed for playing Indiana Jones and Han Solo in the Star Wars films, was seen in the wake of the announcement that he will appear in the 2024 movie Captain America: New World Order in the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross.

Ford will play the role vacated in the wake of William Hurt’s death earlier this year, as the late actor portrayed the role in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and 2021’s Black Widow.
The movie, which is slated to be directed by Julius Onah, is set following the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. A number of actors from the show will portray their roles in the film, including Carl Lumbly and Danny Ramirez.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore, appearing on the Phase Zero podcast earlier this week, said he thought Ford’s involvement in the MCU franchise was ‘going to be fantastic,’ and that he was anticipating seeing the Hollywood icon work opposite leading man Anthony Mackie.
‘Harrison Ford, we couldn’t be more excited,’ Moore said. ‘Obviously, when you have Han Solo, or Indiana Jones involved in your movie, it just raises the game. So we’re excited to see [Anthony] Mackie and Harrison Ford in scenes together.’

Ford’s casting in the role of Ross has spurred speculation, as in the comic book series, the Ross character morphs into a villainous character known as Red Hulk.
There will also be a stand alone Thunderbolts movie with Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan. The film will see a group of supervillains recruited to go on missions for the government. It is reportedly set to be released on July 26, 2024, according to a fan page.
Despite this, Harrison previously claimed that Marvel had ‘killed’ the success of its superhero films by releasing too many of them.
The acting legend made the claim during a discussion about the upcoming Indiana Jones movie, which is slated for release in 2023.
Harrison – who first starred as the adventurer in Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981 – said: ‘I don’t really want to give them what they wanna see, I want to give them something they didn’t anticipate seeing.

‘The Marvel movies are a spectacular example of a success that worked the other way round – they killed it.’
Harrison suggested that he wouldn’t allow the franchise to follow the same path as the Marvel movies.
Speaking about their plans, Harrison said: ‘We’re not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we’re in a position to kill it. We want it to be the best.’
The actor also insisted he wouldn’t commit to another Indiana Jones movie unless he was totally convinced by the project.
He explained: ‘We’re determined to get it right before we get it made.’
The Indiana Jones movie is expected to arrive in theaters on June 30, 2023.
