One fan delved into the meaning behind the video, arguing it represented the way the entertainment industry views artists.

They wrote: ‘I want to write an essay on how the music for a sushi restaurant music video was an allegory for the entertainment industry and how if an artist falls short in their ability instead of giving them space to improve and do better, they’re just destroyed instead’.

And one fan admitted that despite his new fishy look, Harry was still as attractive as ever, writing: ‘harry styles is the only man who can turn himself half octopus and still be sexy like why am i sweating for a man with tentacles’.

Harry recently spoke to NPR’s Leila Fadel about the meaning behind the song.

He said: ‘I was in a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles with my producer and one of our songs came on from the last album’ noting that he thought it was a strange thing to hear in a sushi restaurant.

He continued: ‘And then I was like – that would be a really fun album title, but then as the song started being made I kind of just set on Music for a Sushi Restaurant.

Leila said: ‘So the next time you’re in a sushi restaurant and this is playing you’ll be like “It fits”,’

‘Harry said: ‘I’ll be like – this is everything I’ve ever wanted.’
