‘Lift Me Up’ by Rihanna lyrics

[Chorus]

Lift me up

Hold me down

Keep me close

Safe and sound

[Verse 1]

Burning in a hopeless dream

Hold me when you go to sleep

Keep me in the warmth of your love

When you depart, keep me safe

Safe and sound

[Chorus]

Lift me up

Hold me down

Keep me close

Safe and sound

[Verse 2]

Drowning in an endless sea

Take some time and stay with me

Keep me in the strength of your arms

Keep me safe

Safe and sound

[Chorus]

Lift me up

Hold me down

Keep me safe

Safe and sound

[Verse 3]

Burning in a hopeless dream

Hold me when you go to sleep

Keep me safe

We need light, we need love

[Chorus]

(Lift me up) Lift me up in your arms

(Hold me down) I need love, I need love, I need love

(Keep me close) Hold me, hold me

(Safe and sound) Hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me

(Lift me up) Hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me

(Hold me down) Hold me, hold me

(Keep me safe) We need light, we need love

In just an hour of uploading the post, the Bajan superstar racked up more than two million likes from her following of 137 million on Instagram.

The new post comes days after the official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever social media accounts shared a virtual announcement for the song.

The clip opened with the title of the film coming into view, accompanied by the hum of suspenseful music.

As the rest of the letters from ‘Wakanda Forever’ faded away, the one remaining was an ‘R,’ in an obvious reference to the songstress.

Against a black screen, the date ‘10.28.22,’ appeared, alerting fans of the release date. The caption had an emoji of eyes and the hashtag, ‘#WakandaForever.’

On Wednesday evening Rihanna stepped out to attend the Black Panther movie premiere in Hollywood. She was joined by beau A$AP Rocky for the glitzy, star-studded event, for which a purple carpet was rolled out.

According to Pitchfork, the longtime entertainer penned the tune with music artist Tems, producer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.

A press release noted that the piece of music was created ‘as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman.’

The late Boseman shocked fans when he died in 2020, after keeping his battle with colon cancer completely private. He was the star of the first Black Panther film, which stole the hearts of audiences in 2018.

Before this, the last time fans heard the Fenty Beauty CEO’s three-octave mezzo-soprano pipes was when she was featured on PartyNextDoor’s 2020 song Believe It.
