Rihanna gushes her son, six months, is ‘amazing’ after comparing motherhood to ‘tripping on acid’

Rihanna described her infant son, who she welcomed in May with her A$AP Rocky, as ‘amazing’, just days after hilariously comparing motherhood to ‘tripping on acid.’

While opening up about the ‘cherished’ the time she spends with her little boy, the 34-year-old Diamonds hitmaker gushed that her bundle of joy is ‘a happy baby.’

The first-time parent went on to gush that seeing her son’s ‘morning face’ is her ‘favorite part of the day’ during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

‘Seeing a baby with, like, little bags and waking up and they’re just, like, startled. They’re trying to figure out where they’re at. It’s the cutest,’ she excitedly told ET

Additionally, giving birth motivated her to perform at the Super Bowl in 2023. 

‘I feel like it was now or never, really. There’s this weird s*** that happens when you become a mom, that you just unleash or unlock other parts of your superpower, you feel like you can take on or you could do anything,’ the nine-time Grammy winner explained.

She continued: ‘I wanted to take on the challenge and I wanted to do something that

would force me to get back onstage.’

Rihanna also reflected on motherhood being ‘the best feeling’ and how she has experienced ‘the most love’ she’s ever known.’

‘I can’t describe it. It’s new. It’s fascinating. Every step, every facial expression, every new milestone. I love it,’ the Barbadian singer added.

Earlier this week, the Fenty Beauty founder compared the early months of motherhood to ‘tripping on acid every day.’ 

While reflecting on her life new life as a mom, the Umbrella crooner admitted that ‘motherhood is a whole other beast.’

‘Life starts over when you become a parent, it’s life that you’ve never known before,’ explained the Ocean’s Eight actress.

The performer added: ‘The beginning is like your tripping acid every day. It’s wild, trippy as hell,’ she explained. 

‘You look at him and he’s yours but he’s a stranger and you’re learning him as he’s learning you and learning the world,’ the Diamonds hitmaker marveled to Access Hollywood. ‘When he looks at me in my eyes, my whole soul…I can’t tell if it’s cold or hot. 

As for how becoming parents has affected her relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky, the Barbadian singer said: ‘It’s amazing to have a friendship be the center of our entire family, I really love it.’

The Savage x Fenty designer and the DMB singer, 33, who have been romantically linked for two years after several years of friendship, have held off on sharing their six-month-old’s name with the world.

News that Rihanna was dating longtime friend A$AP broke in January 2020 following her split from Hassan Jameel, whom she dated for almost three years.

Rihanna and A$AP were also romantically linked in 2013 for a brief period when she appeared in his music video for Fashion Killa.

As far as being pregnant, she told Vogue’s May 2022 issue it did not slow her down.

‘None of the dials are turned down,’ she told the fashion bible. ‘I think I even say yes to more now because I know it will be different on the other side of this. At first I expected some magical change, but really I remain who I am.’

The star will have a lot to juggle now that she is a mom as she prepares headline the Super Bowl halftime show next year.

‘Balance is one of my biggest challenges and always has been. And now there’s another human being coming into play, it changes what that means again,’ she admitted.

‘Still, I have businesses that aren’t going to run themselves. My mom handled the three of us with not even close to the amount of resources that I have, so I can absolutely do it.’
