The Block: Tree Change’s Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman ‘Oz’ Abu Malik have revealed how they plan to spend some of their prize money after becoming ‘instant millionaires’ on the show.

The Sydney-based best friends made the largest sum over reserve of all five houses, selling their property for $5,666,666 and taking home a record breaking $1.6million in profit.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, Oz, 30, revealed the pair will be donating some of the money to charity.

‘Omar and I, we are two brothers that would love to continue what we do best, we would love to give back,’ he explained.

‘We obviously put a lot of hard work into charity, we’ve [donated] to charity all of our lives and this time we want to give back to kids.’

While Oz didn’t reveal how much exactly they will be donating, he said that his family back home have already picked a charity.

‘We definitely want to put it out there that we want to give back to the people that are less fortunate,’ he said.

Oz explained while he was happy with their victory, they couldn’t help but feel for their co-stars who didn’t sell their homes.

‘Money comes, money goes in life. For me, it’s all about people knowing that we did , and represented the best we could.’

The western Sydney mates made the largest sum of all five Block houses, far exceeding the $4.08million reserve.

But many weren’t impressed with Omar and Oz’s win after Adrian Portelli – an online promotions guru with a net worth of $8million, who arrived at the auction in a flashy yellow Lamborghini – seemed to know Omar and Oz well and bid on their home.

Portelli opened the bidding on House 5 at $4.5million, which was much higher than the $4.08million reserve price.

His aggressive bids meant eventual buyer Danny Wallis ended up paying an eye-watering $5,666,666.66 for the four-bedroom, 10-acre property, making the boys instant millionaires with total winnings of $1,686,666.66 – the biggest victory in The Block’s 18-year history.

Coming in second at auction were Rachel and Ryan Carr, who negotiated to sell their home for $4,250,000 – making a profit of $169,000.

Fan favourites Tom and Sarah-Jane came in third but didn’t bring in big bucks.

There was also heartache, with two couples, Ankur and Sharon and Dylan and Jenny, failing to sell their homes at auction.

Both properties were passed in when they failed to attract a bidder over their $4.08 million reserve price, both attracting a highest bid of $4,075,000.

Both couples continued to negotiate with their highest bidders after filming, but as of 9pm Sunday, November 6, Ankur and Sharon and Dylan and Jenny, are still open to offers to buy their homes.
